N.Y. Air Pollution Plans Will Get EPA Review to Settle Lawsuit

The EPA reached a settlement with an environmental group and agreed to soon approve or reject New York’s plans to reduce pollution from motor vehicles, cement plants, and pollution that drifts into other states, according to a filing in a federal court in the state.

Our Children’s Earth Foundation sued after the Environmental Protection Agency failed to timely review the state’s plans. The agency’s delay violated the Clean Air Act, the group told the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

New York sent seven state implementation plans between 2008 and 2018 to meet national air standards. ...
